Dr Michael Bossley

Michael Bossley is a lifelong campaigner and educator for environmental conservation. Michael has been particularly involved in marine mammal conservation. He was a campaign driver for the prohibition of whaling in Australia and later served on Australian government delegations in an international context. Michael founded the South Australian branch of Greenpeace in 1978, became the leader of Greenpeace Australia and was one of the founders and a board member of Greenpeace International. Michael has taught environmental studies and marine biology at university level for thirty years and has volunteered his time to schools and community groups. His research has made Adelaide's dolphin's international icons, with their environment soon to be declared a world leading sanctuary. Michael is an exceptional and inspirational Australian who continues to work towards the betterment of our environment.
