Matthew Thomas is a passionate and committed advocate for the cultural sector in Canberra. At 23, Matthew is a member of the ACT Cultural Council, the ACT Government's advisory body on arts and culture and a board member of the Jigsaw Theatre Company. This year Matthew completed his Bachelor of Communication from the University of Canberra complemented with studies in Art History at the ANU. Since leaving school he has worked at a number of art organisations including Canberra Arts Marketing, Canberra Youth Theatre, Gorman Arts Centre, Macquarie Trio and the Tuggeranong Arts Centre. Matthew is also a keen actor as well as training to become an operatic bass at the School of Music, ANU. Matthew's commitment to the arts in Canberra is outstanding and he is a highly motivated young Australian.
